IND vs SA Test: 'India needs to wake up' slams Sunil Gavaskar after India's poor show

The Little Master, Sunil Gavaskar has slammed Rohit Sharma and Co. The former India great has been disappointed by India’s bowling performances early on Day 3 of the IND vs SA 1st Test. Gavaskar has claimed that India needs to wake up and take charge of the match.

The India Cricket Team has been left frustrated as Dean Elgar continues his charge and has already registered his 150 run knock. Team India has also failed to dismiss Marco Jansen as the duo have raked up the 50 run partnership. With constant poor fielding and a lack of enthusiasm, Gavaskar immediately slammed Rohit and his boys.

“India have to wake up. They are listless. I can understand on a hot day, an hour after Tea, but not on the first hour of a day,” said Sunil Gavaskar during his commentary.

Later on Ravi Shastri too piped in claiming, “India needs to stop thinking that things will happen for them. They need to get their head back in the game. The real test for India will be how to go from here. They haven’t played a lot of Test matches in recent times. In needs to be seen how India pulls up from here.”

India have been on the backfoot for quite sometime. After the inital spells from Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj, both Dean Elgar and Marco Jansen has punished Shardul Thakur and Prasidh Krishna scoring at a run rate of 5 per over. The duo are keen to pile up a big score for the hosts.
