IND vs SA Test: Dean Elgar slams fifty, continues to frustrate India in Final Frontier

Dean Elgar has set the pace for the South Africa after a wonderful fifty against India in the IND vs SA 1st Test. The stand in captain for the Proteas in place of injured Temba Bavuma continued to lead the charge for the hosts. Despite losing Aiden Markram early, post lunch Elgar switched gears to slam a stunning fifty.

It is a difficult pitch to bowl and given India’s furious bowling lineup, Dean Elgar has impressed everyone with his 79 ball fifty to put South Africa in a comfortable position in the India vs South Africa 1st Test match

Indian batters baring KL Rahul has found it difficult to score big runs. But that is not the case for Dean Elgar playing his final Test series before hanging up his boots. While Kagiso Rabada scalped a fifer, Elgar has taken the Indian pacers to the cleaners.

Post lunch he switched gears to score at a run rate of over 5 per over. Elgar has taken some caution while playing Bumrah and Siraj but he has went on to display his fine array of shots against Shardul Thakur and Prasidh Krishna.

While Tony de Zorzi continues to absorb the pressure, Elgar is looking to play a free innings. The primary objective for Elgar will be continue the good momentum and score a big run for their first innings. India has managed just 245 runs. So if the Proteas can continue to score runs and frustrate India, half the battle is won for the hosts.
