IND vs SA Test: Dean Elgar threat yet again haunts India as star Proteas batter register 2nd Test ton vs India

Dean Elgar continues to haunt India again. Playing his last Test series and with nothing to lose, Elgar switched gears after the Lunch on Day 2. He reached his fifty and continue to time his shots timely to hit a flurry of boundaries and reach his three digit score.

Dean Elgar single handedly won South Africa the Test series last time. This time, the same result. Elgar continued his onslaught on the Indian bowlers to put South Africa in a commanding position in the IND vs SA 1st Test. Elgar took just 140 balls to reach the three digit mark which included 19 fours.

While Bumrah and Siraj has been good, Elgar hammered Prasidh Krishna and Shardul Thakur to pile up his runs. Accompanied by Tony de Zorzi, Elgar continued to attack from one end while Zorzi absorbed the pressure.

India find themselves in a precarious position. The pitch assisted the SA pacers on Day 1 and then continued to improve as time progressed. Finally with SA batting, the Indian bowlers are finding it hard to scalp wickets. Who benefits from this? the hosts and especially Dean Elgar who has registered his second Test century against India.

Dean Elgar is playing his last Test series and with nothing to lose and no pressure on his shoulders he looks in deft touch. But then again, he is also the stand in skipper as Temba Bavuma is out with an injury.

Elgar will be keen to continue his momentum and continue scoring runs in a jiffy. The hosts will plan to pileup a big score to put an extra ordinary pressure on India who will be batting again. India managed to score 245 runs in the first innings after a splendid century by KL Rahul.
