IND vs SA Test: Dean Elgar frustrates India, narrowly misses 200 ton knock

IND vs SA 1st Test: Dean Elgar dominance continues. frustrates India with stunning 150

Dean Elgar has frustrated India in the ongoing IND vs SA 1st Test. Playing his last Test series for his nation, Elgar posed a thorn for the visitors. After slamming a ton in the previous day, early on Day 3, Elgar continued his momentum to go on hit a brilliant 150. But he narrowly missed his 200 after being scalped by Shardul Thakur on 185.

Starting Day 3 on a good note, Elgar looked in deft touch. He slammed a fine cover drive to reach his 150 with a glorious boundary. He has slammed 24 fours and have taken 229 deliveries to reach 150. He was ultimately dimissed on 185 after hitting 28 boundaries.

2 years back, Dean Elgar single handedly won South Africa the Test series. This year, playing his last Test series before retiring, Elgar continues to frustrate India.

Punish the poor balls and switching gears as and when required, Dean Elgar has truly displayed a masterpiece in batting. Braving the odds against the likes of Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj, he took his chances against the inexperienced Shardul Thakur and Prasidh Krishna.

The left handed batter stitched a good partnership with hard hitter Marco Jansen to help the Proteas pile up a big score and give a heft lead to the Indians. With pitch conditions changing and cracks starting to appear, Day 3 will provide assistance to the batters before completely switching tides to assist the bowlers.
