IND vs SA T20Is: SKY, Arshdeep Singh en route to achieve major record against Proteas

India will be ready to take on Proteas for a 4-match T20I series

Amidst the upcoming Border Gavaskar Trophy, the India Cricket Team will be taking a short detour to South Africa. The Men in Blue will be taking on the Proteas for a 4 match T20I series. While the usual suspects will be flying to Down Under, SKY and his boys will take on their ICC T20 World Cup rivals.

Amidst the red-ball cricket season, Suryakumar Yadav and Arshdeep Singh are en route to achieving some major records in the shortest format of the game. SKY who is the current India T20I captain can become the highest run-getter against the Proteas in this IND vs SA T20I series.

SKY to go for glory

Suryakumar Yadav is an incredible batter in the shortest format of the game. After winning the ICC T20 World Cup, he was handed the captaincy, when Rohit Sharma retired. And if SKY manages to score 156 runs in the series, he will surpass Jonny Bairstow in becoming the highest run-getter in T20Is against South Africa.

Furthermore, SKY is known for his aggressive batting style. A menace in hitting sixes, SKY now needs just 6 more sixes to reach the 150 mark. Should he do so, he will become the third batter in the history of T20Is to achieve this record after Rohit Sharma and Martin Guptill.

Arshdeep Singh – India’s pace express

India’s ace pacer Arshdeep Singh is also en route to achieve some major feathers on his cap. He currently has 87 wickets in T20Is, jointly shared with Hardik Pandya. Should he manage to scalp 10 wickets in the 4 games, he will easily surpass Yuzvendra Chahal’s record of 96 wickets. This will enable Arshdeep to become the highest T20I wicket-taker for India.

On the other hand, Arshdeep Singh needs 13 more wickets to achieve a major laurel. He can become the fastest pacer in T20I history to achieve the 3-digit wicket mark. With 56 wickets, Arshdeep is tipped to break Haris Rauf’s record who achieved the feat from 71 games.
