IND vs SA T20 Series: Acid Test for Rahul as selectors to monitor his captaincy skills
- The series against South Africa will be an acid test for Rahul after he lost a 3-0 ODI series against South Africa in the rainbow nation in January
- There were a lot of eyebrows raised when the 30-year-old was again named as captain for the T20 series against South Africa
- A lot of experts believed Rahul should not have been given captaincy due to the start he had in his captaincy career. The BCCI selectors though have now backed him and have given up the leadership role
- This time, the selectors will monitor his captaincy closely. Rahul has led LSG well this season and that should give him some confidence
“It will be a great opportunity for KL. The only senior around him will be Bhuvneshwar and it will be the best test for him as a potential Indian captain. I won’t say he will be under pressure but certainly, he will be closely monitored,” a member of the selection committee told InsideSport.
