1. No Bio bubble
In a major relief to the players and the team management, the BCCI have decided to do away with the bio bubbles with the threat of COVID-19 now marginalised. It will mark the first series India play without a bio secure bubble on home soil, with players not having to isolate before beginning their preparations.
2. 100% attendance
As witnessed during the IPL 2022 playoffs, the BCCI have now allowed 100% capacity at Stadiums, meaning all five venues could have maximum crowds during the IND vs SA t20 series. It also marks the return of different venues for different games with BCCI previously having avoided long travel to avoid threat of bubble breach.

3. New opening pair
With Rohit Sharma and seniors on tour to England, KL Rahul will lead the side alongside a new opening partner. The squad packs options in the likes of Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ishan Kishan and Venkatesh Iyer, while Rishabh Pant has also previously opened the batting for the Men in Blue.
4. Return of the old guard
A stellar IPL 2022 saw Yuzvendra Chahal return to the scheme of things in the national set up. The Purple Cap winner from Rajasthan Royals will make an international appearance for the first time this year. Dinesh Karthik and Hardik Pandya also make returns to the team, while Kuldeep has yet another shot at making a comeback.
5. Pace bowling arsenal
Barring Bhuvneshwar Kumar, India have a rather new pace bowling attack for the South Africa series. Harshal Patel made his debut last year, while the likes of Avesh Khan, Arshdeep Singh and Umran Malik are yet to make their international debuts. India’s fast bowling stocks have risen over the years and it’ll be on display against South Africa.
