India pacer Prasidh Krishna survived a horror debut to feature in the playing XI for the 2nd IND vs SA Test in Cape Town. The Karnataka pacer made his Test debut in the 1st Test at Centurion and had a rather forgettable outing. Despite the poor show, Rohit Sharma has decided to back the bowler with another chance.
IND vs SA: Prasidh Krishna survives debut scare to make it to 2nd Test
Krishna had a rather awful start to his red-ball career, picking up just one wicket in his 20-over spell while conceding 93 runs. The pacer’s performance sparked debates of whether he should be replaced for the next game, with India having lost the series.
“Prasidh has played a lot of white-ball cricket for us in the last two or three years, and he has shown that he has got a lot of potential. Obviously, it didn’t work out well for him playing his first game, but we all were nervous when we played our first game,” Rohit Sharma backed Prasidh Krishna after a flop show on debut.
