The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on November 30 (Thursday) announced the squad for the upcoming IND vs SA ODI series. To note, KL Rahul will lead the Indian ODI side while Sanju Samson has made his return to the 50-over squad. Meanwhile, young sensation Rinku Singh has also received his maiden ODI call-up.
Team India will take on South Africa in a three-match ODI series slated to start on December 17 (Sunday). The first match of the IND vs SA ODI series will be played at the iconic New Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg. Meanwhile, the 2nd ODI between India and South Africa will be played at the St George’s Park in Gqeberha on December 19. The final 50-over encounter will be played on December 21 at the Boland Park in Paarl.
Team India last played the 50-over format in the World Cup. The Men in Blue reached the final match of tournament. However, they failed to get their hands on the prized trophy. It must be mentioned that team India came out victorious in the last IND vs SA ODI clash. Facing South Africa in the World Cup match, Rohit Sharma and Co. thumped the Proteas by a massive margin of 243 runs at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
