Rain plays spoilsport-

  • While the Indian Cricket season is unusually stretched this season, with matches lasting as late as last week of June, rain was to play a role at some point.
  • While rain god was kind in Rajkot and Vizag as there was a possibility of rain, there was no missing out this time.
  • Rain finally played its part in the Bangalore T20I and the washout resulted in the match being abandoned with just 21 legal deliveries bowled.
  • This meant the series ended in a 2-2 draw and India missed out on the chance to win a home T20 series against South Africa.

No series win against South Africa on home turf-

  • The washout in Bangalore now means that the series ended in a 2-2 stalemate with the series shared.
  • This also means that Rishabh Pant and Co were unable to win a T20I series against the Proteas on home turf.
  • While this will come as a disappointment, India will be still happy as they came form 2-0 down to level the series.
  • South Africa had earlier won the first two matches and then it was India who had the momentum with two wins in last two.
