Most International Centuries LIST: “If he can give good performances in the next five-six months, he will be happy to have quit captaincy and would tell himself that he can score 120 international hundred, Shoaib Akhtar told India Today.

“His next 50 centuries will be because of the anger that he has now. And, this anger does not have to be reflected on people but in his batting,” he added.

Shoaib Akhtar also broke his silence over the ongoing tussle between him and the BCCI. “There are lobbies against him and there are people against him and that is the reason why he stepped down. Whoever enjoys the star status, will always face problems but there’s nothing to fear about,” he said.

The Pakistan legend further added that the situation demands Virat Kohli to work hard and focus on his energy to do well for India. He felt that Kohli will return to glory after relieving from captaincy.

“Now that he is off the hook, he just has to make sure that he enjoys his cricket. He is great and he should know that. He just has to enhance his value. Keep it simple and just play his normal cricket,” he signed off.

Kohli began his new chapter in his career with a half-century but failed entirely in a do-or-die match for India.

The wait for his century just got lengthened with the last ODI century against West Indies in August 2019. His last century across all formats came in November 2019 against Bangladesh.
