IND VS SA Live: Bumrah vs Jansen – The IPL has brought players from across the nations together. The friendship between Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers is just an example. But it was a weird scene when former Mumbai India teammates Marco Jansen and Jasprit Bumrah had repeated altercation on the field during the Johannesburg Test. Jansen, a newcomer in Test setup, said “sometimes things get heated on the field”.
Jasprit Bumrah and Marco Jansen played together in Mumbai Indians in IPL 2021. In IPL 2020, Marco Jansen was a net bowler for Mumbai Indians. However, the two former teammates had repeated altercations during the Johannesburg Test, forcing the umpire to intervene.

Marco Jansen made a fantastic start to his Test career, finishing as the second-highest wicket-taker in the series with 19 scalps, one behind Kagiso Rabada. The fierce battle between the two best fast-bowling unit was a treat to watch.
“Obviously, felt good to have gotten a chance in the Test team and then to contribute to the side’s cause. I did not expect to do that well in the series. Very glad that we won the series 2-1. India has not won a Test series in our conditions, glad that we could maintain that record,” Marco Jansen said.

“The first innings of the first Test sums it up really well. I did not start the way I wanted to and I was very nervous. It is normal for every player to get nervous. Off the field, I am a chill guy, I am an introvert but when I am on the field, I want to express myself,” Marco Jansen added.
Despite being pre-tour favourites, India lost the Test series 1-2 as South Africa came from behind to win two consecutive Tests. India will now face South Africa in a three-match ODI series starting January 19 with Marco Jansen likely to make his ODI debut.

“Obviously, we are taking momentum from the Test series into the ODIs. But we are not underestimating India at all, India is one of the best teams in the world so we have to bring our A-game. We are looking to take the fight to them. We have to be as prepared as we can, a series win against India would be big,” Jansen said.
