Shardul Thakur beat Harbhajan Singh’s 7/120 record in South Africa while he also went past Ravichandran Ashwin’s 7/66 in India.

VVS Laxman, former India batsman and current NCA director called it a lion-hearted display.
“Lion-hearted display by Shardul Thakur. Best figures by an Indian against South Africa, thoroughly deserved his seven wickets for persistence and intelligence. Has single-handedly brought India back into the second Test. Over to the batters now,” he tweeted.

Wasim Jaffer, Irfan Pathan too lauded Shardul’s efforts as India restricted South Africa to 229, conceding just 27-runs first-innings lead.
