IND vs SA Live: India vs South Africa Live: South Africa have been dealt a big blow. Wicketkeeper-batsman Quinton de Kock is unlikely to feature in the remaining three games after suffering a hand injury. Former CSA chief Graeme Smith said that the injury was serious and it is unlikely that he will be risked ahead of the England tour. Follow South Africa Tour of India Live Updates on InsideSport.IN.
“The injury is a little serious from what I hear. I don’t think he will take any further part in the series as South Africa won’t risk him ahead of the England Tour,” Graeme Smith said at the post-match show on Star Sports.

At the toss, South Africa captain Temba Bavuma said De Kock suffered a hand injury during practice ahead of 2nd T20. But he did not reveal how serious it was.
Although Heinrich Klaasen played a brilliant 46-ball 81-run knock in the 2nd T20 as De Kock’s substitution, his absence will be felt. Quinton de Kock was in brilliant form in the IPL 2022, finishing with 508 runs in 15 matches for Lucknow Super Giants.
In the first T20, Quinton de Kock managed just 22 off 18 balls. But considering he has an impeccable record in and against India, his absence will be a blow for Proteas.

Meanwhile, South Africa took a 2-0 lead in the T20 series after a 4-wicket victory in the 2nd T20 in Cuttack. After fine bowling restricted India to 148/6, De Kock’s substitute Heinrich Klaasen played a superb knock of 81 runs off just 46 balls to guide Proteas to victory.
Sent to bat, India struggled in Cuttack with Ruturaj Gaikwad falling in the first over. Although Ishan Kishan (34) and Shreyas Iyer (40) managed to control the damage with a 45-run stand, India kept on losing wickets at regular intervals. In the end, a late cameo from Dinesh Karthik helped India post 148/6.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled a terrific spell of 4/13 to take the fight to South Africa. In his first three overs, Bhuvneshwar gave away just 10 runs in exchange for three wickets, reducing South Africa to 29/3. But Temba Bavuma (35) and Heinrich Klaasen added 64 runs for the 4th wicket to ease the pressure.
Klaasen then took on Yuzvendra Chahal to any chance of an India comeback. Chahal went for 49 runs in four overs while Axar Patel went for 19 in his one over while Hardik Patel conceded 31 in three overs.

At the post-match show on Star Sports, both Graeme Smith and Sunil Gavaskar batted for a change in India’s combination for the 3rd T20 in Vizag on Tuesday.
“I think India should make a change. The obvious change is Axar Patel. He is not contributing much with the bat. India can bring in Deepak Hooda who can bowl spin as well,” Graeme Smith said.
Sunil Gavaskar played it safe although he said India must change the combination if they have to win the next match.
“India have to tinker with the combination. It’s pretty obvious. I am not Chetan Sharma. So, I won’t say who should be dropped. But India need to change things if they want to win the series,” Sunil Gavaskar said.
