Cheteshwar Pujara dropped catch: Cheteshwar Pujara’s nightmare tour of South Africa continue on the final day of the series after the Indian veteran dropped a sitter to give Keegan Petersen a reprieve on Day 4 of the IND vs SA 3rd Test. India were desperate for wickets needing eight in their pursuit to defend 111, and Jasprit Bumrah finally induced an edge of the well-set Petersen, only for Pujara to drop it, and potentially the series with it as well. Incidentally, it was Keegan Petersen who pulled off a stunning diving catch to send Pujara back to the hut in the second innings in Cape Town. The Indian No.3 had tried playing a short ball down the leg side, only for Petersen to pluck it out of thin air with a full-length dive to see the back of the Indian back.

Cheteshwar Pujara has struggled with the bat this series, though played some notable cameos, including a 43 in the first innings at Cape Town, while chipped in with a 50 at Johannesburg. The clock is ticking for the Indian ace to prove his mettle, with his last century being well over three years ago back in 2019.
