But besides that, this win at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium was even more special for the local fans, as it was the first instance where India defeated South Africa in Rajkot. In the previous two occasions, it was the Proteas who had the upper hand.
Speaking of the game itself, India got off to a poor start but still managed to put up 169 runs on the board, thanks to a brilliant partnership between Hardik Pandya and Dinesh Karthik. Hardik scored 46 runs in 31 deliveries, Karthik scored 55 runs off 27 balls.

Following that, it was all about India’s brilliance with the ball, as South Africa were bowled out for only 87 runs. Avesh Khan was India’s best bowler witch four wickets to his name, while Yuzvendra Chahal also chipped in with a couple of scalps.
