Sanju Samson was the hero with a century while Tilak Varma scored 52 and a cameo from Rinku Singh (38 off 27) helped India post 296/8 sent to bat. In reply, South Africa were bowled out for 218 in 45.5 overs with Arshdeep Singh bagging a four-fer as India sealed a 78-run victory.
Earlier, South Africa won the toss and opted to field in the third and final ODI at Paarl. India handed Rajat Patidar his India debut as Ruturaj Gaikwad was ruled out with a finger injury.
