Why it has been lucky ground for Dravid, Kohli?
For Rahul Dravid: The coach of the current Indian team scored a magnificent 148 runs during the 1997 series. This innings was a testament to the fact that India can play on bouncy wickets.
Dravid’s tryst with this ground doesn’t end with a ton. When he returned for the 2006 series as a captain of the Indian team, India registered its first-ever test win in South Africa on this very ground. India won the match by 123 Runs.
For Virat Kohli: Like coach Rahul Dravid, even captain Virat Kohli has a very happy memory about this ground. Kohli’s dream run overseas started with a win at Wanderers in 2018 and the team is now on the cusp of history at its favoured venue.
