IND vs SA 2nd Test: Rohit Sharma talks about ‘hunger’ in the team, eager to level series in Cape Town Test

IND vs SA 2nd Test: Rohit Sharma affirms hunger and intent in team to win Cape Town Test

Ahead of the IND vs SA 2nd Test, team India skipper Rohit Sharma spoke about the hunger and the intent to win. Despite going down in the Boxing Day Test, the India Cricket Team are aiming to make a strong comeback. Rohit Sharma spoke about his young team and how the boys know their jobs and what to do to extract results from the game.

India were humiliated by the Proteas in the previous Test. Furthermore, India’s record in Test in South Africa is rather poor. Only MS Dhoni is the skipper who has drawn a series in the Rainbow Nation. But Rohit isn’t bothered of getting his name in the list and wants to win the match to tie the series.

“The hunger intent in the team is quite good, because all are young lads. If you don’t have hunger at a young age then it makes no sense. When you go on a tour, the biggest goal is to win the series. If you can’t then atleast don’t allow the opposition to win and enforce a draw,” said Rohit Sharma at the Pre match Press conference.

“This exclusive list, it doesn’t matter to me. We take a lot of pride in playing for India away for home and winning games and series. Even the team discussions are based on the fact as to how we can win. What all things are needed to be done. Because Test matches are not a game that will be finished in 1-2 sessions. It is 5-day game and you need to stay in the game for a long.

India will face a tough job in the next match. They take on the hosts at the Fortress Newlands, where India has never won a Test match in their cricketing history. But Rohit Sharma is confident on his team, and has claimed that he is backing the youngsters in the team.

“To get the results, you need to work hard and have patience. The boys know that well, despite having not played many Test matches in South Africa. They know what challengers and there and how to win,” Rohit concluded.
