Team India skipper Rohit Sharma has voiced that keeping Test cricket alive is not just one or two nations’ responsibility.
Talking to media ahead of IND vs SA 2nd Test, Rohit Sharma was asked on his views on Cricket South Africa (CSA) preferring SA20 League over Test series against New Zealand.
“I mean honestly, for me, you know, Test cricket is the ultimate challenge and you would want to see the best players playing in that format”, Rohit told media.
“But again, everyone has their own problems deal with. I don’t know what the internal talks are, or what the internal discussions are in cricket South Africa. But In my perspective, I think it’s important that the priority and a lot of thought should be given to Test”, the Indian skipper added.
When asked if India, who are a giant of the sport, has more responsibility to promote the longest format of the game, the Rohit said that not just one or two but every nation should take the responsibility to protect it.
