South Africa’s Test veteran Dean Elgar fell cheaply in his farewell game in IND vs SA 2nd Test at Newlands in Cape Town on Wednesday.
Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj was the bowler who got the big wicket of Elgar. The Proteas’ stand-in skipper, who scored a brilliant 185 in the Centurion Test, got dismissed on 4.
Siraj bowled a short of length ball in the third delivery of the sixth over which was going away. Elgar tried to force it through the covers but dragged it onto his stumps.

Earlier, Elgar won the toss and opted to bat first on a good batting deck.
“Pitch looks interesting. We’re in a great position. Can’t win a two-match series if you don’t win the first – we’ve crossed that hurdle. Scoreboard starts on nought. We all know that. Starting well is going to be key against this Indian side”, Elgar said after the toss.
