India’s premium pacer Jasprit Bumrah tormented South Africa batters on Day 2 of the 2nd IND vs SA Test at Cape Town as he grabbed a five-wicket haul. The Proteas resumed their innings at 63/2 on Day 2, after a rollercoaster of a Day 1 where 23 wickets fell.
IND vs SA: Bumrah gets 9th five-wicket haul
Bumrah began his assault with his first victim being Test debutant Tristian Stubbs on Day 1. On Day 2, David Bedingham was the fiery pacer’s first scalp, with Kyle Verreynne and Marco Jansen followed suit. Keshav Maharaj was Bumrah’s fifth victim, as the pacer registered his 9th 5-wicket haul.
Day 2 of play also saw the game being paused for a brief bit owing to issues with the pitch.
During Mukesh Kumar’s delivery, the umpire and players, including Rohit Sharma, noticed an issue with the landing zone. Rohit humorously urged Mukesh to continue, saying, “daal dena bhai” (carry on bowling, bro). However, the matter required attention from the ground staff.
