IND vs SA 2nd Test: India breach Newlands, demolish Proteas to level series in shortest Test match ever

INS vs SA 2nd Test: India Cricket Team humiliate Proteas to clinch sensational win in Cape Town to level series 1-1

The India Cricket Team comeback strongly to level the series 1-1. After a humiliating loss in the Boxing Day Test, India came with all guns blazing to win the IND vs SA 2nd Test by 7 wickets. Such was India’s might that they won the match in the shortest Test match ever. Mohammed Siraj dominated the Proteas batters in 1st innings to scalp a six-fer and restricting the Proteas for just 55 runs.

India managed 153 runs before Lungi Ngidi triggered the Indian batting collapse. After a mighty start, India lost 6 wickets in 11 balls in their 1st innings. Post Tea on Day 1, the Proteas came to bat again. Mukesh Kumar joined hands with Bumrah to scalp 3 wickets.

While the Proteas continued to falter, one man stood strong. Opener Aiden Markram braved all odds to fight a losing battle. He hammered a sensation century as to help the Proteas post a mere target 79 runs for India to chase.

If it was Siraj who breathed fire int he first innings, in the second innings it was Jasprit Bumrah. The ace pacer broke the Proteas backbone as he scalped a six-fer. Prasidh Krishna and Siraj bagged a wicket apeice as the Proteas’s second innings ended on 176 with an early lunch being taken.

India came out to bat. The openers Rohit Sharma and Yashavi Jaiswal looked in deft touch as the visitors parried to score runs. Yashasvi Jaiswal gave the visitors a quick start. Gill and Kohli departed without scoring much, but Iyer hammered a four to win the match. In the end, India breached the fortress Newlands on their 7th attempt to win the Test match and level the series 1-1.
