Virat Kohli has gotten a life early in the IND vs SA 1st Test. Having scored just 4 runs so far, the master batter knocked the ball to Tony de Zorzi, who was stationed at the square leg. Zorzi moved and dove to his left, only to palm the ball to the ground. An easy chance has gone begging. The Proteas will hope that they don’t have to pay heavily for the missed opportunity.
Having played just 8 balls up to that point, Virat Kohli wasn’t looking that comfortable in the middle. With Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Shubman Gill back in the hut, the onus fell on the former skipper.
Seeing the full ball on the leg stump, Virat Kohli’s eye lit up. The batter went for one of his favourite shots, the flick, only to find the fielder. However, luck and de Zorzi were in the batter’s favour. With a reprieve while batting at just 4 runs, Kohli will look to make it big and bring his side back into the game.
