The countdown for the IND vs SA Test series have begun. India will take on South Africa in the IND vs SA 1st Test at Centurion Park on December 26. Ahead of the match, Team India had their first practice session on Sunday. Indian captain Rohit Sharma had a lengthy batting session on Sunday. He took on a full-powered Indian bowling line at one of the center pitches of Centurion park.
The Indian team will fight hard to win their maiden Test series in South Africa. Team India has only drawn a single Test series in the Proteas’ den since 1993. If India want to provide themselves with any chance to win the IND vs SA Test series, their batting unit needs to come out all guns blazing. India are aware of that, and it was evident in Sunday’s practice session where a lot of emphasis was given on batting.
All focus on Rohit Sharma
India opted for one of the center practices pitches of the Centurion Park for Sunday’s session. The decision was presumably taken to give the cricketers a matchday feeling. Indian captain Rohit Sharma was the first one to pad up and bat on the pitch. After being rested for the white ball series against the Proteas, Rohit Sharma looked fresh. He tackled some tricky deliveries from Indian speedsters Jasprit Bumrah, Shardul Thakur and spinner Ravindra Jadeja. The Indian captain seemed to be in a Test mindset, leaving balls outside off-stump.
However, Rohit Sharma played some good drives on pitched-up deliveries from Ravindra Jadeja. The Indian captain looked equally adept on short-pitched deliveries by pacers too, rocking back quickly to lift the balls over square leg. Indian fans will be hoping Rohit Sharma starts from where he left off in the ODI World Cup. Rohit’s form will be instrumental if India want to start the IND vs SA Test series off with a win.
