IND vs SA 1st Test: India’s saviour rescues again, Virat Kohli hammers 30th Test fifty

Virat Kohli comes to India's rescue again, slams 30th Test fifty to save India from blushes

Virat Kohli once again came to India’s rescue. The star Indian batter registered a fine fifty in the second innings of the IND vs SA 1st Test to save the visitors from the blushes. While the top order once again fumbled, Kohli stood his ground to hammer a fine fifty as India hopes to cover up a huge chase target.

India received a big blow when Rohit Sharma was dismissed for a duck. Yashasvi Jaiswal soon followed next. Kohli started to build his innings with Shubman Gill but the latter too got dismissed. Back from tea, Shreyas Iyer was also dismissed as India pinned all their hopes on Kohli to save the match.

Batting against all odds, Kohli continued to bat in style as he hammered his 30th Test fifty. One of the greatest batters of this generation, Kohli yet again shined while others failed. Known as the ‘King’, Kohli continued to pose a big threat for the Proteas.

Kohli looked confident. He started approaching the game at run a ball, before slowing down as he approached his fifty. He took 61 balls to hit his fifty with 8 fours and a solitary sixer.

But Kohli is yet to receive any support from his partners. After Iyer, KL Rahul too followed next after being dismissed by Nandre Burger. Ravichandran Ashwin came in next and departed on a golden duck as South Africa scalped 6 wickets on Day 3 of the game.
