IND vs SA – IND vs SA Live Updates– 18-year-old Yatish Singh, a young off-spinner from Delhi had enjoyed a stellar few days after he was approached by the DDCA to bowl to the international stars during South Africa’s tour of India. Yatish who was part of the net bowling contingent earned praise from head coach Rahul Dravid as he made a strong impression prior to the first T20I of the five-match series. Delhi Boy Yatish gets opportunity to impress –

The 18-year-old Delhi boy Yatish was having his lunch when a call from Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA) official rang and was approached to be part of the net bowling contingent. Yatish was initially asked to bowl to both Indian and South Africa batters in the nets. Interestingly, Yatish was the only off-spinner in the six-man camp and didn’t fail to impress.

“I was really happen when I got the call for the net bowler duty. It was a big assignment for someone who has just started his domestic career. It was a big opportunity for me. The environment of the Indian dressing room was amazing. All the players were very cooperative. They told me what I was doing right and wrong,” Yatish told TimesofIndia.com.

Experience of Meeting Rahul Dravid-

Yatish has been working hard as he also spoke about the experience of meeting Rahul Dravid and batting coach Vikram Rathore. Dravid, Rathore and other staff members of the team started explaining to Yatish what his duties would be as a net bowler.

However Yatish only replied – ‘yes sir’. Yatish was then tasked to practice for two days and then join the South African team nets and then the Indian team nets.

The net bowler from Delhi had watched the South African players on TV before he met them in the nets. Yatish knew the superstars would play the inexperienced net bowlers with ease, but he wanted to make an impression.

Assigned to bowl to Temba Bavuma and David Miller-

Yatish was assigned to bowl to the likes of South Africa captain Temba Bavuma, Aiden Markram, David Miller, Heinrich Klaasen, Quinton de Kock and Kagiso Rabada in the nets.

The 18-year-old’s bowling skills were put to the test when he took on the South Africa stars. With plenty of opportunities in the come in the coming days, Yatish will now be targeting a place in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and other major domestic competitions like Ranji Trophy to make an impact as the future looks bright for him.
