IND vs PAK: Pakistan bowling coach reveals Men in Green to play according to their strength

India will take on Pakistan in the much anticipated clash on Sunday in Dubai

The Pakistan Cricket Team is not flustered ahead of the crucial India vs Pakistan clash in the ICC Champions Trophy. Infact, Pakistan’s bowling coach Aqib Javed has claimed that his side is not bothered by the heavy spin attack of the Indians. He believes that the Men in Green will play according to their strengths on sunday in Dubai.

Team India have travelled to Dubai with 5 spinners, and it is assumed that three spin options will be used against Pakistan. India opted for a similar approach in their opening game against Bangladesh as well. On the other hand, India’s heavy reliant on spin can trouble Pakistan as well.

Pakistan not worried about India’s heavy spin attack

The Men in Green has just a solitary specialist spinner in their ranks. But bowling coach Aqib Javed is not at all worried. He believes that his side has a very strong pace attack and thus will play according to their strengths.

“Other teams have too many spinners and we have lesser spin options. The teams play their game on their own strength. We have like a specialist three, I would say one of the best pace bowling options in today’s game with Shaheen, Naseem, and Haris. It reminds me of the 90’s. India has a plan to play 3-4 spinners. That is their plan. We have to play our cricket on our own strength. Our team will not see any major changes,” said Javed in the pre-match press conference.

In the previous game at Dubai, Axar Patel struck almost a hattrick coming to bowl in the 9th over of the innings. Later on in the game, under the lights too the Bangladeshi spinners faired well as Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Rishad Hossain troubled the Men in Blue. Aqib Javed claimed that his side doesn’t need too many spinners as he believes that the Dubai pitch won’t offer much turn.

“If you look at Pakistan, we are playing very little spin. You have one specialist spinner and two all-rounders. One is a left-armer, Khushdil, and the other is Agha Salman, who bowls off-spin. So, you have to keep a balance, like 20 overs, 25 overs, pace, and bounce. It’s not possible to have five spinners here. And you won’t see any pitches where you feel that the ball is turning too much, and there’s a lot for spinners and there’s nothing for fast bowlers,” he concluded.
