IND vs PAK LIVE: ICC T20 World Cup 2022: The war of words between India and Pakistan continues. Former Pakistan wicket-keeper Kamran Akmal has hit back at BCCI, asking Pakistan Cricket Board to BOYCOTT the match on October 23. His remarks came in after BCCI Secretary, Jay Shah, who is also the Asian Cricket Council President said India would not travel to Pakistan for Asia Cup 2023. PCB condemned his remarks, asking ACC to convene an emergency meeting and also threatened to pull out of World Cup 2023. Follow India vs Pakistan LIVE Updates on InsideSport.IN.
“I believe Jay Shah’s statement was unexpected. Since he attended the Pakistan-India game during this year’s Asia Cup, he should reserve politics for his opposition and avoid dragging it into sports,” Kamran Akmal told ARY News.

Jay Shah further said that Asia Cup 2023 should happen in a neutral venue. New BCCI President and Sports Minister Anurag Thakur later clarified that India’s travel to Pakistan will depend on the Home Ministry. If they allow, India will travel, else Rohit Sharma & Co would not.
What did Jay Shah say?
“The Asia Cup 2023 will be held at a neutral venue. I am saying this as ACC President. We can’t go there, they can’t come here. In the past also, Asia Cup has been played at a neutral venue,” Jay Shah said.
Kamran Akmal said Pakistan should host Asia Cup 2023. If the event is moved out, Pakistan should not play against India at any level even in ICC events. It should be noted that Pakistan will also host the ICC Champions Trophy in 2025.

“Asia Cup should only be hosted in Pakistan and if that does not happen then Pakistan should not play against India at any level, be it ICC events’ matches, Asia Cup matches, or even their match on October 23,” Kamran Akmal said.
Following Shah’s statement, other former Pakistani players have come hard on India. Younis Khan said it should not matter whether India travel to Pakistan, if Rohit Sharma & Co pull out, Pakistan should also not visit India for World Cup 2023.
“If they decide to stick with their decision then it should not matter to us if the Indian team does not participate in Asia Cup and we should consider not travelling to India for the ODI World Cup the following year, nor we should agree to host Asia Cup at a neutral venue.”
