On Sunday, Afridi proved InsideSport right. His deadly inswinging yorkers were rather unplayable as India’s lack of left-handers in the Top 4 proved costly. In his three overs, Afridi sent back Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul in his first two overs. In fact, in his first 24 deliveries, there were 13 dot balls, the highest amongst all Pakistan bowlers, proving he was too hot to handle for Team India.

Shaheen Afridi vs Rohit Sharma:
In his first over, Afridi’s yorker-length delivery with a bit of inswing stunned Rohit Sharma. The late movement of his legs meant, Afridi delivery caught him leg before on a duck. With that Rohit Sharma also continued his poor run against Pakistan in T20Is.

Shaheen Afridi vs KL Rahul:
In his second over, on the very first ball, Afridi struck again. This time, his target was KL Rahul as his second inswinging yorker was rather unplayable. Even in form, KL Rahul could just watch the wickets shatter as the stumps tumbled.

Shaheen Afridi vs Virat Kohli:
Even though KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma surrendered to Afridi, Virat Kohli steadied India, carefully navigating the left-arm pacer. However, Afridi finally got the better of Kohli. The Indian captain trying to accelerate the innings, edged one in the 19th over, becoming Afridi’s third victim on the day. It was a shorter delivery with the pace off and Kohli fell. But his wicket did fulfil Afridi’s promise of taking the Top 3 wickets of India’s line-up.
