Pakistan teen sensational bowler Naseem Shah was the first to provide the breakthrough for his side. The speedster with a sublime delivery dismissed the Indian vice-captain. The next batter to be dismissed was Rohit Sharma. The India skipper played a loose shot of Haris Rauf delivery to gift his wicket to the opposition. A back-of-length delivery clocking 145 kph was pitched outside the off stump. Rohit became tempted to poke the ball and the added pace of the ball took the outside edge to carry to Iftikhar Ahmed at slip who took a diving catch.
Though the umpires referred for the third umpire to check if the catch was taken cleanly, Rohit shrugged his shoulders and kept on walking away. Pakistan’s fiery spell early on in the innings helped their side exert huge pressure on India and turned the momentum of the game in their favour.
