Pakistan captain Babar Azam is about to step into a cauldron of fiery battle. The T20 World Cup clash against arch-rivals India looms large on June 9, and former cricketer Rashid Latif believes Babar has a room to learn pressure-handling lessons from none other than the likes of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.
Babar should learn from Kohli & Rohit!
Babar, a brilliant batsman himself, has led Pakistan to the T20 World Cup semi-final and final in the last two editions in 2021 and 2022, respectively. But according to Latif, the upcoming mega clash in New York will be a bigger pressure cooker than the entire World Cup itself!
“The focus is on the game on June 9 against India. Babar (Pakistan captain) will be under a lot of pressure because of the game against India rather than performing in the World Cup,” Latif told the Press Trust of India (PTI).

So, where can Babar find the recipe for pressure-cooked success? Look no further than the Indian batting brigade. “He should learn to carry the pressure, he should learn that from Virat and Rohit,” Latif suggests. “They know how to carry the game.”
Here’s the challenge for the Men in Green and Babar: India boasts a near-perfect record against Pakistan in T20 World Cups, with six wins out of seven. Pakistan’s lone victory, however, was a historic one – a 10-wicket drubbing in 2021 with Azam and Mohammad Rizwan stitching together a record-breaking chase.
