IND vs NZ U19: India demolishes Kiwis to qualify for the U19 World Cup semifinal

India is the first team to qualify for the U19 World Cup 2024 semifinal.

After dominating the Kiwis in the IND vs NZ U19 match, Uday Saharan and co. have qualified for the U19 World Cup 2024 semifinals. The India U19 side was put in to bat first by New Zealand skipper Oscar Jackson. However, his move backfired as Musheer Khan singlehandedly downed the Kiwis with his imperious 131-run knock.

The right-handed batter took control of the proceedings after coming in to bat at 28-1. Apart from Musheer, only Adarsh Singh could trouble the Kiwi bowlers, scoring 52 off 58 balls.

Mason Clarke was the standout performer for New Zealand. He scalped a 4-wicket haul, dismissing Musheer, Arshin Kulkarni, Priyanshu Moliya, and Murugan Abhishek. His late strikes helped the Kiwis restrict India U19 to 295.

Ace bowler Raj Limbani started the second innings with a twin wicket maiden, which included the wicket of New Zealand’s highest run scorer, Snehith Reddy. Left-arm orthodox spinner Saumy Pandey joined the party a few overs later, dismissing Lachlan Stackpole in the 6th over and James Nelson in the 8th over.

New Zealand ended the powerplay at 27/4, with no hope of even reaching half of what India scored.

Then, left-arm pacer Naman Tiwari turned to inflict further damage. He clean-bowled Oliver Tewatiya, and the Kiwis slumped down to 39/5 in just 11.5 overs.

India U19 continued to chip away with wickets, with spinners Saumy Pandey, Arshin Kulkarni, and Musheer Khan taking the final five wickets.

In the end, India U19 won by a whopping 214 runs, with Musheer Khan taking 2 wickets along with his 131-run knock.
