IND vs NZ Test: Major boost for New Zealand as Jacob Oram joins Black Caps as bowling coach

IND vs NZ Test: New Zealand Cricket Team rope in former legendary bowler Jacob Oram as bowling coach before India vs New Zealand Test series

New Zealand Cricket legend Jacob Oram has joined the Black Caps as their new bowling coach. Oram will go on to replace Shane Jurgensen who left his place last year. Interestingly, ahead of the IND vs NZ Test series, the Kiwis get a huge boost in their ranks with their former great joining them as the bowling coach.

Jacob Oram will accompany Gary Stead when New Zealand travel to India. That will be Oram’s first assignment for the Black Caps as the two nations will fight to grab crucial World Test Championship (WTC) Points.

New Zealand gets major boost before IND vs NZ Tests

Jacob Oram has been the bowling coach during the ICC T20 World Cup. Prior to that he also had a similar work with the New Zealand Women’s Team during the ICC Women’s World Cup in 2022.

“I’m really excited to have the opportunity to be involved with the Black Caps again. To be back involved with a team that means so much to me and has been a big part of my life is a real honour. The recent opportunities I’ve had have been a great insight into where this team is going and I’m excited to continue that work in the coming seasons,” Jacob Oram.

There’s a fresh new wave of talent coming through in the Black Caps bowling ranks and I hope that I can share my knowledge and experience to help best prepare them for the challenges of international cricket,” Oram concluded.

Up next India will take on Bangladesh on a two match Test series. But following which it will be the mega series against New Zealand for a three match Test series. The Kiwis will be keen to make it to the finals of the WTC Finals in 2025. Oram has further claimed his primary objective would be help the youngsters achieve their full potential.
