The winter chill can already be experienced the moment in Pink city and dew is likely to have a major impact just like in the recently concluded T20 World Cup in the UAE, where teams preferred to chase in better batting conditions.

“Here in Jaipur, there could be dew in the first innings itself going by the last two days which minimises the toss advantage to a certain extent. Since it is a T20, one has to expect lots of runs from this surface,” said an official.

“We will use the anti-dew spray-on match day but we have all seen its effect is very limited, he further added.

Meanwhile, a new era begins for Indian cricket with Rahul Dravid as India head coach and Rohit Sharma as the full-time T20I skipper. With big names like Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja, Hardik Pandya, and Jasprit Bumrah missing out, a couple of IPL stars such as Venkatesh Iyer, Harshal Patel, and Avesh Khan are likely to get a chance in the T20 series.

The last time both teams met in a bilateral T20I series, the Men in Blue come out with flying colours, thrashing the Kiwis by 5-0 at their own backyard. Rohit Sharma-led side will be hoping to continue the same and also better its overall head-to-head record. Both teams have met 19 times in T20Is with New Zealand winning 09 out of 17 encounters.

Total – 17

New Zealand – 09

India – 06

Tie – 02
