- The National Selectors are upset with Hardik Pandya’s failure at T20 World Cup.
- He was dropped after failing big time as a finisher and lack of full bowling fitness
- KKR’s Venkatesh Iyer has been included as a replacement for Hardik Pandya for the T20I series
- As per InsideSport, BCCI was also unhappy with Hardik Pandya’s fitness fiasco. He was neither in shape nor able to deliver.
- He continued to struggle with his injury, form and fitness that affected Team balance.
- He bowled only 4 overs in the tournaments and managed 69 runs across five matches.
- Selectors felt BCCI paid a huge price for trusting Hardik’s abilities and his one-sided game bore the brunt.
Hardik Pandya will have to play domestic cricket and prove himself to return to the India squad.
“Of course, Hardik Pandya has been dropped. He will have to prove his form and fitness to be considered for the selections. Pandya purely as batsman doesn’t fit into our scheme of things. He will be asked to play domestic cricket, go through the rigour if he has to make a comeback to the squad”, said one of the selectors on condition of anonymity.
