India handed 113-run thrashing in IND vs NZ 2nd Test

India entered the series against New Zealand riding high on confidence after having whitewashed Bangladesh. However, the hosts were in for a rude shock as New Zealand did the unthinkable in the rain-hit IND vs NZ 1st Test in Bengaluru. India’s poor form spilled over to the match in Pune as well. While Washington Sundar had a phenomenal outing with a ten-wicket haul, the rest of the unit failed to perform. Mitchell Santner was the star with the ball for the Kiwis, bagging 13 wickets across 2 innings.

The last time India lost a series at home was to England in 2012 when they went down 2-1 to the visitors. The series loss to New Zealand puts India’s chances of making it to the World Test Championship (WTC) final in jeopardy.
