IND vs NZ 1st Test: India's day goes from bad to worse, continues to drop plethora of catches

It is safe to say that Day 2 of the IND vs NZ 1st Test didn’t go in favor of the India Cricket Team. After their batting disaster, the bowlers failed to impress. Adding more misery, the fielding has been subpar. India has gone on to be horrible on the field, leaking runs, and failing to stop boundaries. And to top it all, dropping 2 crucial catches.

Will Young probably had the best luck for the Kiwis. He survived two dropped catches and ended up unscathed after a horrible run-out mix-up. Coming to Team India‘s poor fielding, skipper Rohit Sharma will have to bear the brunt.

Butter Fingers

He missed Conway’s edged shot, but credit to Rohit Sharma as the chance was very tough. But the same can’t be said about KL Rahul. He went on to miss a sitter of a catch, adding more misery to the already worsened Indian side. Earlier on in the innings, both KL Rahul and Virat Kohli were involved in a mix-up.

Both the fielders were left unmoved in the slip area when a thick outside edge went between the two players, only to stop after hitting the boundary ropes. The Indian skipper Rohit Sharma was visibly very angry after the particular catch miss.

New Zealand takes charge on Day 2

The day has been entirely about New Zealand. They went on to bowl out India for a mere total of 46 runs. Then they went on to showcase their batting batting brilliance by the bat. Matt Henry bagged a fifer while William ORourke scalped a four-fer to put the Indians to shame.

And on the batting front, Devon Conway single-handedly led the charge for the Kiwi attack. He narrowly missed out on a stunning century after Ravichandran Ashwin bowled him out on 91 runs.
