IND vs NEP Weather: Rain to again ruin Asia Cup 2023 match at Pallekele Stadium

IND vs NEP Weather: Rain to again ruin Asia Cup 2023 match at Pallekele Stadium

This will be the third match to be played at the Pallekele Stadium in the Asia Cup 2023. While the first match on August 31 ended with Sri Lanka winning, the second match between India and Pakistan on September 2 was washed off.

IND vs NEP Weather: Rain is expected to play spoilsport once again in the India vs Nepal encounter in the Asia Cup 2023. After the weather marred the blockbuster IND vs PAK encounter on August 2, the fate of the 5th match on August 4 at the Pallekele Stadium seems to be the same. This could mean that India would qualify for the Super Fours without winning a match, while Nepal would be eliminated from the tournament with one loss and a match ending in no result.

IND vs NEP Weather Report: 80% chance of rain and high humidity in Pallekele

Similar to the IND vs PAK match, the weather in Pallekele will cause constant interruptions. According to weather.com, there is over a 60% chance of rain from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Pallekele Stadium on August 4. It is also expected to be an extremely humid day, with 88% humidity throughout the day. There will also be thundershowers (rain with thunder and lighting) throughout the match. The temperature will range from 21°C to 27°C during the day.

Due to cloudy and overcast conditions, pacers would likely get assistance in the first 10 overs, much like in the IND vs PAK match. It should be easier to handle the spinners with the ball getting wet, and moisture in the pitch would make it difficult for the spinners to get some purchase off the pitch.
