IND vs NED Practice: T20 practice before final league game for Rohit Sharma & Co

Team India focused on power-hitting with two good batting surfaces in the next two games in their final nets session in Bengaluru.

IND vs NED Practice LIVE: India Cricket Team’s optional practice session has come to an end. Rohit Sharma & Co will take on Netherlands in the dead-rubber final league stage clash of the World Cup 2023 at Bengaluru’s M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Sunday. Ahead of the game, focus was on T20-eshque power-hitting.

While Virat Kohli skipped the session, Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan along with Shubman Gill grilled for a long duration at the nets.

Head coach Rahul Dravid attended the press-conference ahead of IND vs NED clash. Dravid heaped praise on Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and said that the Indian opener has led by example in the tournament.

His captaincy has been terrific for a long time. He is someone who has got the respect of the team and the coaching staff. It’s been a pleasure to see him operate the way he has. I think he is truly someone who deserves all the success that he has been getting and hopefully, it may continue,” Rahul Dravid said in Bengaluru.

Focus on Ashwin

Having played just one game so far, Ravichandran Ashwin has only been a bench warmer. But in Bengaluru, Ashwin got a full-fledged session with both bat and the ball.

While Rahul Dravid has hinted at no change, he can still bring in Ashwin and rest Ravindra Jadeja from the inconsequential game.

India is likely to maintain the same lineup when facing the Netherlands on Sunday. However, there’s a possibility that star pacer Jasprit Bumrah might be rested in preparation for crucial knockout matches. In such case, the pace department could be spearheaded by Mohammed Siraj and Mohammed Shami. Meanwhile, Shardul Thakur will serve as the third seamer.

India’s probable playing XI vs Netherlands: Shubman Gill, Rohit Sharma (c), Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul (wk), Suryakumar Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Shami, and Mohammed Siraj. paraphrase
