Umran Malik performed brilliantly in the IPL 2022. If Arshdeep was the 2nd best death-overs bowler after Jasprit Bumrah, Umran set the stage on fire with speed. However, Rahul Dravid’s continuity formula meant the two had to wait for their chance as he kept an unchanged Playing XI for all five games.
Umran Malik was the only bowler throughout the tournament who consistently bowled deliveries over the speed of 150+kph. Malik who had to warm the bench in the recently concluded 5-match T20I series against South Africa got his chance against Ireland when Indian pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar gifted him his T20I debut cap.
