IND vs IRE: Weather to play spoilsport again?

  • The poor weather conditions will be the theme of the week as there is a prediction of partial showers on Tuesday evening.
  • Generally, during this period of the year in Ireland, the conditions are hot and humid due to Irish summer. But it has unexpectedly rained and will could repeat again on Tuesday.
  • The Village which hosts second T20I has a good drainage system as showcased on Sunday. But if the showers are heavy it could affect the game time.

Wash out followed by rain interruption –

Earlier India had their final T20I against South Africa washed out by rain as Bangalore witnessed monsoon showers. However, the expected warm conditions of Ireland haven’t changed the team’s fortunes as they witnessed yet another rain interruption on Sunday.

The consequences of which saw the match curtailed to just 12 overs per side. If the rain gods aren’t kind then on Tuesday, it could be raining again in Dublin. The consequences of the rain washout saw team India share the T20I series honours with South Africa while it could benefit India if the second T20I gets washed out against Ireland.

India eye series win- 

Deepak Hooda produced a super show with the bat as India defeated Ireland by seven wickets in the first T20I at The Village in Dublin. Hooda, who usually comes in the middle-order, walked out to open the innings and returned unbeaten on 47 runs.

India will be without Ruturaj Gaikwad for the second T20I after he sustained calf injury. Sanju Samson could be in the team in his place as India try to add to their impressive record Ireland.
