IND vs ENG: The reason for Virat Kohli's absence is still not clear, with many speculating, he's due to become father for the second time.

Even though the Indian squad for the remaining three Tests is yet to be announced by the BCCI, slowly but surely, certain issues pertaining to the team are getting clearer. As per a report in the Indian Express, former India skipper Virat Kohli has withdrawn from the last three matches of the England series, and has communicated his decision to the BCCI.

The report further states that Kohli had spoken to Captain Rohit Sharma at the start of the series, his decision to skip the first two Tests, due to personal reasons. In a press release issued later, BCCI secretary Jay Shah informed, “The BCCI respects his decision and the Board and team management has extended its support to the star batter and is confident in the abilities of the remaining squad members to step up and deliver commendable performances in the Test series.”

Earlier, it was also revealed that middle-order batsman Shreyas Iyer, who has been struggling to get runs, has complained of back and groin pain, and won’t be part of the third Test.
