IND vs ENG Test: Run-machine Yashasvi Jaiswal eyes Sunil Gavaskar’s 53-year old record

Yashasvi Jaiswal will be eyeing to break 53-year-old record currently held by legendary Sunil Gavaskar when India take on England at Ranchi.

Team India’s dynamic opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has been going through a dream run in Test format. The 22-year-old scored a brilliant 209 to set up India’s win in Rajkot in the third IND vs ENG Test.

Jaiswal has already registered two double hundreds and has amassed 545 runs in six innings. The young Indian opener will be looking to continue his run-scoring form in the fourth Test as well, starting on February 23 in Ranchi.

Jaiswal, will also be eyeing to break 53-year-old record currently held by legendary Sunil Gavaskar when India take on England at Ranchi.

Jaiswal would need 229 runs to go past former India opener Sunil Gavaskar to score most runs in a Test series as Indian opener.

Sunil Gavaskar currently holds the record with 774 runs which he scored in the India vs West Indies Test series in 1971.

Jaiswal would also be aiming to break Virat Kohli’s record of most runs in a Test series for India in the 21st century. Kohli had scored 692 runs against Australia in 2014-15 series. Yashasvi needs just 147 runs to past the former Indian skipper.
