Cheteshwar Pujara and Ravindra Jadeja are set to be felicitated by the Saurashtra Cricket Association. The felicitation is set to take place before the IND vs ENG 3rd Test in Rajkot. The duo will be honored for their achievements both for state and country by the SCA.
While Cheteshwar Pujara is no longer a part of the India’s Test setup, Ravindra Jadeja is a vital cog. It was expected that Pujara would get his callup after been sensational in the Ranji Trophy but alas. On the other hand, Jadeja who missed the 2nd Test with injury is back with the squad again.
“We will be felicitating both Pujara and Ravindra during the function for new name of the stadium,” said SCA President Jaydev Shah.
Pujara has been a key servant for India. On the other hand, Ravindra Jadeja continues to shine and fly high. The all-rounder is currently ranked number 1 all-rounder in Tests.
“I can’t say much on that (Pujara not playing) because it’s the team management’s and selectors’ call but had he been there, we would have been very proud. It’s not that we are not proud now, but we would have been more proud had he played. He has played over 100 Test matches and not many have managed to do that in India. Him playing at Rajkot would have been great but that’s part of the game. You don’t get everything what you dream. He has worked very hard. He made Saurashtra very proud,” Jaydev added.
The felicitation will work wonders both the players. The duo has done enough for their state and the country and deserves recognition.
“Ravindra still is making Saurashtra very proud. I heard Ravindra is injured… don’t know much about it but he is likely to come for the function. I hope so. We will be felicitating him also for being the world’s best Test all-rounder,” Jaydev concluded.
