IND vs ENG Test: Injury troubles continue, Ravindra Jadeja’s return looks bleak

IND vs ENG Test: Ravindra Jadeja unlikely to recover in time for remainder of IND vs ENG Test series

Injury concerns in the Indian Cricket Team continues. There is surety that ace all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja will be back in the remainder of the IND vs ENG Test series. Jadeja suffered a hamstring injury in the 1st Test and is likely to be unavailable for the rest of the matches.

Reports in the media claim that Ravindra Jadeja might recover in time to feature in the rest of the matches. But their is no surety of the fact. India replaced Jadeja with Kuldeep Yadav in the Hyderabad Test. But this meant, India now has lost out on a batter and has a long list of tailenders.

A proper hamstring injury takes almost 4-5 weeks of time to recover. Reports further claim that Jadeja might need additional time in order to gain full match fitness. This essentially means, that the all-rounder might not recover in time, till the series gets over. Under such conditions, Jadeja will directly feature in IPL 2024 for Chennai Super Kings.

Among other injury concerns, KL Rahul is likely to be available for the IND vs ENG 3rd Test in Rajkot. India missed out on a dependable batter in Vizag. Rajat Patidar made his Test debut in KL’s absence.

With India seriously lacking batting strength in the middle order, there is also uncertainty over the availability of star batter Virat Kohli. Reports claim Kohli is in UK with wife Anushka Sharma. The couple are expecting the birth of their second child.

On the other hand, ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah is unlikely to feature in the 3rd Test owing to workload management. The Indian side did the same for Mohammed Siraj in the Vizag Test.
