In their true overconfident manner under Ben Stokes and Brendon McCullum, England’s top scorer in the India vs England 3rd Test has claimed that the visiting team deserves some praise for Jaiswal’s attacking century on Day 3 in Rajkot.
While praising the Indian opener, Duckett veered off the topic and credited England for his knock.
“When you see players from the opposition playing like that, it almost feels like we (England) should take some credit that they’re playing differently than how other people play Test cricket,” Duckett said in the post-match press conference after the end of the third day’s play.
Since Ben Stokes and Brendon McCullum took over as captain and coach in 2022, they have enjoyed great success. Together, they have a 14-6 win-loss record since adopting their aggressive batting approach.
“We saw it a bit in the summer, and it’s quite exciting to see other players and other teams also playing that aggressive style of cricket,” said the English while talking about Yashasvi Jaiswal and his attacking approach.
