IND vs ENG T20Is: Arshdeep Singh provides big update on Mohammed Shami, says this..

IND vs ENG: Mohammed Shami had last played for India in the World Cup 2023 final vs Australia, and since then has missed all matches due to injury.

Why didn’t Mohammed Shami play the first IND vs ENG T20I in Kolkata, despite warming up for the match? That is something only the team management knows, but experts feel that the ace pacer has still not recovered fully from his recent knee issue. All fans across the country were eagerly waiting for his comeback to international cricket after a gap of a year, but they’ll have to wait a little bit longer.

Mohammed Shami in Action Soon

Shami’s fellow pacer Arshdeep Singh has provided a big update, as to when we’ll see the former in action. IN a post-match interview on JioCinema, the left-arm pacer confirmed that Shami could feature in the next few matches. “Just wait for a few more days, and you’ll get to see that bowling, and you’ll enjoy it a lot,” he said, as per India Today.

Earlier, Arshdeep had shared as to how impressive Mohammed Shami looked. “Just yesterday, I was talking to Shami Bhai about it. When he was bowling, the way the ball came out of his hand was simply incredible. With every delivery, I couldn’t help but think, ‘Wow, how can a ball be bowled like that?'” Arshdeep said. “It feels like the 22-year-old version of Shami Bhai is bowling again, the way the ball is coming out of his hand,” he added.

Arshdeep Singh Says, Bowler Fit to Play

Meanwhile, one of the biggest challenges for Shami is to not only play for India in the next few matches, but also stay fit for the upcoming Champions Trophy and even the IND vs ENG Test series in June-July. In between that, there lies a full and taxing season of the IPL 2025 as well.

The second T20I will be played in Chennai at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Jan 25, following Jan 28 match in Rajkot, Jan 31 match in Pune, and Feb 2 match in Mumbai. Post that, the action will move to the ODIs, where Nagpur, Cuttack and Ahmedabad will host the matches.
