On the fourth day of the IND vs ENG 3rd Test, Indian batter Suryakumar Yadav expressed his happiness at seeing Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sarfaraz Khan of Mumbai bat together for India. Suryakumar Yadav expressed his emotions through a deeply personal post on social media.
Yashasvi Jaiswal, who scored 10 runs in the first innings of the 3rd Test, proceeded cautiously at first in the 2nd innings before switching to T20 mode from Test mode. On the third day, the left-handed batter reached his century in just 122 deliveries after scoring his first 50 runs off 79 balls. The batter retired hurt due to a back spasm but returned on Day 4 to complete his double century.
Sarfaraz Khan on the other hand scripted his name in the history books by become on of those rare batters to score half-centuries in both innings in his debut. After scoring 62 in the first innings, the Mumbai batter backed it up with another impressive innings of 68 in the second innings.
Both Jaiswal and Sarfaraz plies their trade for Mumbai in the domestic circuit. Suryakumar, who also plays for Mumbai, expressed his admiration for the journey both batters made from the ‘maidans’ to the biggest stage of international cricket.
Through a social media post, Suryakumar Yadav shared his happiness at seeing Sarfaraz Khan and Yashasvi Jaiswal bat together for India. The No. 1 T20-ranked batter commended their journey from Mumbai’s maidans to playing for the national team.
“From Maindaans of Mumbai to batting together for India. What a story,” Suryakumar wrote on Instagram.
