IND vs ENG: Shivam Dube the bowler cannot be taken lightly, says “been working with Morne Morkel”

IND vs ENG: Shivam Dube scored 30 from 13 deliveries, and then returned with figures of 2/11 from two overs.

After the fourth T20I in Pune, there was a lot of chatter about, how Team India had wronged England, by introducing Harshit Rana as the concussion sub for Shivam Dube. Experts like Kevin Pietersen couldn’t digest the fact that a substitute player ended up eventually winning the match for India. Amidst this, Pietersen, and other former England players also questioned Dube’s bowling credentials.

Shivam Dube Proves Critics Wrong

But then, the all-rounder did not get bogged down by all this criticism, and showed the world, why he is one of the best domestic circuit all-rounders in the country. On Sunday, not only Shivam Dube slammed 30 from 13 deliveries, but then with ball, also went on to pick up 2/11 in his two overs.

After the match in Mumbai, Dube made it clear that he has been delivering, both with the bat and ball for India, and the fifth T20I was another instance. “It feels great when you contribute as an all-rounder for the team. I have been doing that since a long time, so I was really excited, I knew I was going to bowl. I gave the team what they wanted,” he said.

Bags 2/11 in IND vs ENG, 5th T20I

“The wicket was amazing for batting, but I enjoyed both (batting and bowling.) The wicket was good, so I tried to play my shots and went hard against their bowlers. I am working with our new coach – Morne Morkel (on bowling), I am working on all the angles and that helped my today,” he added further.

For the record, Dube picked up big wickets of Phil Salt (55 from 23) and Jacob Bethell, both decent batsmen. Now, he has 11 wickets in 34 T20Is, and an economy rate of 9.53.
